Caroline LLORCA

Trained at the National Conservatory of Paris, France, she became the first French dancer to graduate the legendary Vaganova School in St. Petersburg, Russia. Student of Natalia Doudinskaia she performed on the prestigious Kirov stage with the school and then as a principal dancer in Paris, when an accident interrupted her performing career.

Her unique knowledge of both French and Russian schools attracted immediately ballet companies and she became one of the youngest ballet mistresses working in Paris, New York, Scala di Milano, Barcelona, Tokyo, Istanbul, Monte-Carlo and as Head of Dance in London Ballet Academy.

Jury member of international ballet competitions she gives master classes in Paris, Varna, Jackson and Jacob´s Pillow and regularly conducts ballet teachers´ workshops. She worked with Serge Lifar, Yvette Chauviré, Konstantin Sergeev, Valery Panov, Carla Fracci, Pierre Lacotte and coached ballet stars Fernando Bujones, Nina Ananiashvilli, Elena Pankova and others.

She successfully staged several ballets: Giselle, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty for Boston Ballet got unanimous acclaims. Bayadere, for the Mexican National Ballet was the cultural event of the year 2001. Don Quixote, a French-Mexican co-production, for the same company was the biggest success of the Ballet Festival of Biarritz, France. She appears in the ballet book Swan Lake, Oslo and in the ballet movie about the making of Giselle, Munich.

Her passion for rhythm and movement made her explore other fields like piano, castagnettes, opera singing and mostly Flamenco, in which she reached a professional level that allowed her to perform as soloist in galas.

Caroline LLORCA is recognized worldwide as a specialist of the Vaganova method and the great classical repertoire.

In 2001 she was appointed professor of classical ballet at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts, where she works to form a new generation of professional dancers.
